2022.11.02. – Winter is coming
It was actually our realtor who had warned me a few days ago: ‘Winter is coming.’ And she was right.
At least it isn’t snowing again, so you can get from one
building to the other pretty safely (only some patches are still iced over).
However, the cold has indeed arrived. Right now (8 pm, as I am writing this),
it’s -12 degrees (according to Google, feels like -17, and I kinda have to
agree) outside. We just got in, and I was actually really cold for the first
time since we’ve arrived almost a month ago (and there have been some cold days
before). We'll really need to get some winter clothes here soon.

Icicles are a common sight nowadays. And they are often quite huge.
Btw, we’ve also tried a new place for dinner after my class today, a vegan restaurant pretty close to where we live (about a 15-min walk from here), and it had a nice atmosphere and music, and the tea was really good, but the food did not convince us. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t particularly good either. It may be a great place to visit if you want a nice place where you can meet friends or maybe get some work done while enjoying a good tea, but as a restaurant, I wouldn’t recommend it. To be fair, their name also says café, but their menu is a full-on restaurant menu with starters, many pages of main dishes, and drinks (and no coffee, cakes or cookies, which I think is kind of a requirement for a café). Plating was nice though.

Found a Broadway sign next to Sukhbaatar square. I really wish we could watch a play (preferably a musical) here. Do they even have them?

Air pollution is a real concern, but sunsets are still beautiful here.
