2023.02.16. - Emart

This one's just about a random Thursday bc both before and after I had such important things happen that I had to put them in separate posts.

In the morning, I had two classes – in both of them, I talked a bit about farsang and busójárás at the end. I won’t be seeing group 1 for over a week because of Tsagaan Sar (aka Lunar New Year) but I still have a class tomorrow with group 2 (and maybe even next Friday, who knows – but that might be online yet, we aren’t sure).

After my class, I just sent a quick email to both groups with some useful links and the homework, then came home to drop my bag off. Originally, we wanted to have lunch at Agnista but it was full, no free tables, so we just went to Emart (which was our afternoon plan anyways) and had fries and Pepsi there at Burger King. Hubby also got a bucket of nuggets and chicken fries and onion rings, but he didn’t really seem to be enjoying it – nowadays, he enjoys meat less and less, and whenever he has it, he usually ends up complaining that it tastes off and that his stomach hurts and that it was a stupid decision to get meat. We actually put most of the chicken fries in a paper bag and wanted to give it to the child who had been asking us for money when we got to Emart (but, seeing as it would probably be taken from him anyway, we didn’t give him any, even though we both wanted to help) but we couldn’t find him anywhere when we went back to the entrance. Sad, at least he could have had some lunch.

Then we did a quick grocery haul in Emart (it was pretty crowded, especially considering it was very early afternoon on a Thursday), getting only the things we aren’t able to order online (discounted fruits, greens, some veggies, tofu products, VegArt, a can opener, and a breakfast cereal). Everything else we might need next week during the holidays, we just ordered online (also from Emart) and hopefully they’ll deliver it all tomorrow.
[Update: they did (well, expect for two items) - they arrived at 11 pm !! with our delivery, loudly banging on the main entrance downstairs bc they spoke no English and couldn't tell me over the phone to open the door for them. Mongolia is just chaotic.]

In the evening, we were mostly chilling, which is really nice for a change, but also replying to emails, sending reports, and crossing some random small things off our to-do lists.

Discounted dragon fruit is cheaper than avocados or most fruits, actually.
