2022.10.25. – Spaghetti for the win

In the morning,

I was mostly chilling and trying to survive while my painkillers (I ended up taking two) did their job helping with my menstrual cramps. Lucky I didn’t have a class today, I have no idea how I would teach on a day like this, in person.

Once it got a bit better by early afternoon, we had lunch (red lentil red pesto pasta with veggies) and went to the embassy to work on the movie screening event scheduled for tomorrow. First we had a meeting going over the event details, then we revised the Kahoot questions and answers, then we had to download pictures (licensable ones!) for it too, and decide what videos to play. Then we wrote cue cards for the ambassador to help her with her presentation (which is basically the Kahoot and a short ppt with pics to illustrate a few points).

Getting some work done at the embassy while my husband pokes at things

By the time we finished there, we were both pretty hungry with my husband, so we walked to a nearby vegan restaurant called Agnista and had dinner there. I got their creamy mushroom pasta and it was one of the best things I’ve eaten in months – exactly what I needed. The sauce was so good I had a hard time not lifting the plate to my face to lick it clean. Must go back there in the future. And it wasn’t really expensive either, for two main dishes and two drinks (an OJ and a tea).

There is a TV in every vegan restaurant we've been to here which has subtitles in 10+ languages (sometimes even Hungarian) and the content is very random. Why?

In the evening, I touched up my introductory speech for the movie tomorrow, and then didn’t get much work done after that. I hope tomorrow will be a bit more productive – and that I can go swim, which I was supposed to do today, but with this unexpected work at the embassy, I didn’t have time for.
